Local author Rev. Dr. Cathie Stivers will introduce and discuss her new book Reviving Our Indigenous Souls: How to Practice the Ancient to Bring in the New. Dr. Stivers will discuss why she feels the topic is both timely and timeless, and what inspired her to write the book. A Q&A and book-signing session will follow.

Rev. Dr. Cathie Stivers has a Ph.D. in Health Education and a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond. She is an ordained Unitarian Universalist minister, and was a pediatric chaplain for over a decade at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. Cathie was a scholar at Stephen Jenkinson’s Orphan Wisdom School (2011-2014), and continues her studies and writings on indigenous ways of being in the world. Her book, Reviving Our Indigenous Souls: How to Practice the Ancient to Bring in the New was published by Balboa Press in early 2018.
