Enjoy a day-long immersive workshop on using journaling to connect you more fully with yourself and with your sense of the sacred. You’ll experience a mashup of writing techniques and prompts based in ancient wisdom traditions and in the contemporary science of positive psychology, with an opportunity to explore them in supportive spiritual community.
This workshop is structured around exploring five interlinked dimensions of the Self — body, heart, mind, soul, and spirit — to help you transcend your small self and connect with a happier, more enlightened version of you.
For each of the five dimensions, you’ll experience:
- Inspiring stories and examples
- Short guided writing exercises using varied prompts and techniques
- Meditations, guided imagery, and centering rituals
- Opportunities for connection and learning through reflective dialogue
- Ideas and resources for establishing, expanding, or deepening your own journaling practice
We’ll close the day with a “best possible self” writing exercise that positive psychology research has shown to boost happiness in people of diverse life stages and circumstances.
Studies by scholars like James Pennebaker and Sonja Lyubomirski have repeatedly shown that expressive writing can be an effective way to boost emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing. You’ll walk away from this workshop not only with tools for your future journaling practice, but also with a deeper sense of joy and peace.
If you can write words on a page, this workshop is for you! Both newbies and experienced journalers are welcome, and can expect to reap many rewards.
