Having children is a sure way to learn about the vastness of our hearts---and to find out the limits of our patience. Mindfulness can offer parents principles and practices that both enrich the parenting experience and provide skills for navigating the inevitable stressful times.
This program is for parents who wish to develop their own mindfulness practice in order to be more present, more attuned and more equanimous with their kids.
We are excited to share that the Special Olympics Virginia in Henrico is hosting us in their space for this timely and relevant course! Join Sherry and Kay as they guide you through the brain-based research on mindfulness specially structured for parents During this 8-week course you will gather a toolbox of resources to enhance your life as a parent.
Sherry Klauer currently holds certifications in yoga, personal training, group fitness, coaching and is pursuing certification in MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction). Sherry dove into mind/body wellness after her daughter was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2009. She learned how to manage her anxiety surrounding the diagnosis through exercise, nutrition and practicing mindfulness.
Kay Davidson, Ph.D., is actively engaged with mindfulness practice for herself, as a coach, mentor, teacher and student.
