Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) gives you proven techniques for living in the present and reducing the worries and fears that cause unnecessary stress. Our 8-week MBSR course is based on the highly acclaimed program of Dr. Jon Kabat -Zinn. Improve your focus, combat stress and become more resilient to unpredictable life events.

Information Session
Join Sherry for an Informational Session about this course on Wednesday, January 31 from 12 pm - 1 pm at Hanover Yoga and Wellness. The Information Session is free and open to everyone. Learn about MBSR and decide if this course is a good fit for you!

Silent Retreat Day
In addition to the 8 MBSR classes we also offer a silent retreat day that is part of the MBSR curriculum and included in the price. The silent retreat is an opportunity to deepen your formal practice in a safe and supportive environment.  We will practice all of the formal meditations we have offered in class (sitting, walking, body scan) as well as some others.  We will also offer a mindful movement practice and an opportunity to practice mindful eating.  This can be seen as a time just for you to care for yourself.  All you need are some comfortable clothes and an open mind (no cell phones please).  Please bring a water bottle and an afternoon snack.  Tea and coffee will be available during the day.  The retreat will be held on Saturday, March 17th from 12:30 pm - 6:00 pm.

Facilitators
Sherry Klauer
currently holds certifications in yoga, personal training, group fitness, coaching and is pursuing certification in MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction). Sherry dove into mind/body wellness after her daughter was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2009. She learned how to manage her anxiety surrounding the diagnosis through exercise, nutrition and practicing mindfulness.
